Quick hits: Bruins and Canucks remain knotted at one after 40

    Second period:

As we sit a week away from the trade deadline, one potential Bruins trade target is off the board as the Florida Panthers have traded forward Sean Bergenheim to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a third round pick.

The Bruins totally dominated the second period, but thanks to Eddie Lack and Ryan Stanton’s illegal touching of the puck in the Canucks’ crease, the game remains tied at one.

Despite not scoring on their  three man advantages, the Bruins looked very good on all three of their power plays. They moved the puck well, got bodies to the net and created chances. The Black and Gold will start the third period with 23 seconds of power play time.

    First period:

For the second straight game the Bruins got off to the start they were looking for. After watching from the press box in the Bruins’ previous two games, Daniel Paille scored for the first time in 36 games to give the Bruins a very early 1-0 lead just 1:05 into the game. Unfortunately that good start did not last long as Ryan Stanton ripped an absolute rocket over the shoulder of Tuukka Rask to tie the game at one just minutes after Paille’s tally.

The line of Paille, Soderberg and Loui Erikkson was the best Bruins’ line in the opening 20. The trio had a number of chances and combined for fives shots and three points.

Not much excitement after the first five minutes of the game presented two goals. The Canucks out shot the Bruins 10-8.
