Injury bug bites again; Spooner recalled

After aggravating an existing shoulder injury in Wednesday’s loss to the Calgary Flames, the Bruins announced yesterday that Kevan Miller will undergo season ending surgery on his dislocated right shoulder. Just another blow to a Bruins team that seems to keep on taking hit after hit.
Miller’s initial injury occurred in Buffalo in October as he awkwardly fell onto his shoulder in a fight against Sabres’ forward Nicolas Deslauriers.
Miller has been very solid for the Bruins this season, appearing in 41 games where he averaged 18:02 of ice time per game. Miller had two goals, five assists and a team high plus-20.
The Bruins may have another injury to deal with as forward David Krejci left Friday’s loss to the Blues after attempting a thunderous hit on Blues’ forward Alex Steen. Krejci needed help off the ice and did not return to the game after leaving in the second period. Krejci did travel with the team to Chicago ahead of Sunday’ tilt with the Blackhawks, but his status and exact injury is still unknown at this time.
In case Krejci is unable to go Sunday, the Bruins have recalled Ryan Spooner. Spooner won’t make it to Chicago in time for Saturday’s practice but will be in the lineup Sunday if Krejci cannot suit up.
Spooner has 11 assists in 23 games for the Bruins.
