Habs defenseman and Bruins villain P.K. Subban lands on Canadian SI cover

During his four-plus seasons in the National Hockey League, P.K. Subban has provided a quality display of hockey for Montreal Canadiens and hockey fans in general. His passion for the game, his skill and his occasional antagonism has given both his fans and his nay-sayers something to talk about during this time.
Bruins fans have had their wide range of opinions regarding the multitalented Subban. Now, they’ll have even more to share this week as the Habs defenseman lands on the cover of the Canadian edition of this week’s Sports Illustrated.

As this week’s cover athlete for the Canadian SI, Subban gets the honor of being interviewed by the great Michael Farber. Here’s an excerpt from the lengthy feature:
“There is no in-between with Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban. Fans either love him or hate him.
He can be fearless and play with reckless abandon, but also can drive opponents crazy, and that’s what makes him one of the NHL’s best.
In reality, Pernell Karl Subban wants what every other player wants in the NHL, a chance to hoist the Stanley Cup in June, and with little regard about how they do it.”
As for this week’s SI cover in the United States, there’s a local feel to that featuring New England Patriots running back Jonas Gray.

The Bruins face the Canadiens for the third time this season Saturday night. I’m sure many of them are hoping the “SI cover jinx” will be in full effect when P.K. Subban and the rest of Les Habitants come to the TD Garden for the first time in the 2014-15 season.
