    Today on Bruins Daily

Tonight, the Bruins travel to Long Island to take on the new look New York Islanders. The Islanders made some noise last week as they traded Matt Moulson, a 2014 first round pick, and a 2015 second round pick to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for forward Thomas Vanek. The former Sabre has one assist in two games with the Islanders.

Chris Chirichiello touches on how excited the Bruins are that the Red Sox are World Champions.

    Know the enemy

The Islanders come into tonight’s game losers of four of their last six and have just five wins on the young season. With that being said, the Islanders can still be a dangerous team. Frans Nielson leads the Islanders in goals with eight, and points with 16. Behind him is the always deadly John Tavares who has 14 points on the season.

One of the biggest issues for the Islanders this season has been the play of their goalie tandem. Evgeni Nabokov and Kevin Poulin have allowed a combined 41 goals through 13 games.

Unless these two see each other in the playoffs, this will mark the second-to-last time the Bruins will play in the Nassau Coliseum as the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn next season to play in the Barclays Center.
