    Today on Bruins Daily

For the second time this year, Chris Chirichiello reveals his player of the week.

    In case you missed it

Since we’ve been MIA for a few days, we figured we’d keep you up with our latest. Here’s a post from your’s truly on Boston.com about Tim Thomas’ start against his former team, and Chris’ three takeaways from Thursday’s win against the Panthers.

    Bruins linkage

Apparently, the Bruins also had a game on Saturday. For those who were busy watching Shane Victorino, Koji Uehara, Big Papi and company on Yawkey Way – or on your television sets at home – the B’s found their game in a 5-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday night. (Joe Haggerty/CSNNE)

Carl Soderberg’s debut made headlines before the Sox game and “Stole the Red Sox Thunder” on Saturday. (DJ Bean/WEEI)

Bobby Orr spoke to “Toucher & Rich” last week to plug his new book (“Orr, My Story”) and shared his thoughts on fighting and playing style. (CBS Boston)

    League linkage

San Jose Sharks forward Brent Burns will not complete his transformation to full-fledged wookie share his epic beard on Nov. 1. At least Bruins fans will get a chance to see it this Thursday night at the TD Garden, anyway. (Sean Leahy/Puck Daddy)

Ex-Bruin Tyler Seguin is lighting it up at his new home in Dallas, but the trade that also involved Loui Eriksson and Rich Peverley (just to name a few) should not be indicated on points. (Sean Gentile/Sporting News)

    Tweets of interest

The Panthers may not have the best on-ice product, but they make up for it with some pretty interesting promotions:

Stars goalie Jack Campbell made his NHL debut in Anaheim last night, and Teemu Selanne scored the first goal against the former hero of the US National Junior team in 2010. But this tidbit is a little more interesting if you ask me:

    Stat of the day

114 – The amount of days between the Bruins’ Game 6 loss to the Blackhawks and the Red Sox victory over the Tigers in the ALCS. What a long wait between championships, eh?

    For something completely different

Another painful reminder on how the Winnipeg New York Jets benefited from a call in their overtime win over the Patriots yesterday. And yet, it seems the NFL might have changed the rules, or did they. I’ll post the link from Deadspin, and you get to decide!
