Friday night was another tough home loss for the Providence Bruins as the power-play went invisible yet again in a 3-0 loss to the Springfield Falcons. Saturday night was not much of a better result for the Baby B’s as they lost to the Connecticut Whales 6-3 at the XL Center Veterans Memorial Coliseum. There was one bright spot for the Baby B’s as Chris Bourque played his best game notching two assists and five shots on net. Although Bourque was a minus two while on the ice, he showed some flashes of speed and his skills that could get this Baby B’s team back on track. Bourque now has four assists in six games played. The left-winger who was traded to the Bruins for Zach Hamill was assigned to the Hershey Bears last year when he played for the Capitals and led the league in scoring with a career-high 93 points (27 goals and 66 assists) in 73 games played. Head Coach Bruce Cassidy is looking for just some of this production to get the Baby B’s offense going. Bruins great Raymond Bourque must love to see his son wearing the Bruins logo on his chest, but Bruins fans in Boston want to see what this kid can really do on the ice. Look for Bourque to find the back of the net sooner rather than later as his point total should be on the ice.
