Today, we take a look at No.6: March 1, 2012 New Jersey Devils vs. Boston Bruins
It was the season of two David Krejci’s and on this night, Krejci was the hero tallying a hat-trick including the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Bruins to a 4-3 win. Head coach Claude Julien was doing everything in his power to get Krejci going and on this night the message was heard-loud and clear.
Krejci had three goals in his previous 23 games as he tied the game versus New Jersey with five minutes left later winning it in OT pushing one by Martin Brodeur. The Bruins were off to a fast start leading 2-0 after two periods, but the Devils answered back with three in the second period.
The Bruins responded well in the third period most importantly, David Krejci. He had one of his best games of the 2012 season bringing the Garden faithful to their feet on numerous occasions.
Tim Thomas was spectacular saving 28 of 31 shots, but was not the first star on this night as David Krejci earned those honors.
The new line of Tyler Seguin, David Krejci and Milan Lucic produced all four goals on the night while Seguin added an assist and Looch added two assists.
The Bruins responded well to a terrible second period where it left them being booed by their home fans, but David Krejci brought them back on his shoulders for a 4-3 overtime win. This is the David Krejci Bruins fans want to see year round not the Krejci who tallied only three goals in his previous 23 games prior to his hat trick versus the Devils.
