The seven days of Chris Kelly: Day 3
Share
Now that Chris Kelly has officially (will not be “official” till July 1) signed a deal keeping him in Boston for the next four seasons it’s time to honor the fourth greatest Bruin in Bruins history (Orr, Bourque, Neely) with the seven days of Chris Kelly.
Over the course of the next seven days Bruins Daily will be recapping some of the best moments in Chris Kelly’s Bruins career to date.
Today for Day 3 we look at Chris Kelly the 20 goal scorer.
Entering the 2011-12 season Chris Kelly had a career high of 15 goals which he set twice in the 2006-2007, and again in the 2009-2010 season, both north of the border with the Ottawa Senators.
Through December Kelly lit the lamp 12 times, including seven goals In the month of November. Heading into the New Year it looked like Kelly was going to shatter his previous career high and maybe even flirt with 30 goals.
A slow start to the calendar year set up a nice finish for Kelly who hit the 20 goal mark for the first time in a 6-3 win against the Islanders in Long Island on March 31, 2012.
Along with a career high in goals, Kelly hit a new career high in points with 39.
This is a good signing…
