Chris’ Take:
You will look at Adam McQuaid’s stats and not be impressed (2 G 8 A) in 72 games played, but McQuaid’s presence on the ice intimidates opposing players every single night. McQuaid is part of the Bruins “gang” that will use his body in whichever way possible to help a team win whether it is a body check or taking off the gloves to shift the momentum in a game. Like Campbell, Lucic and Thornton, McQuaid will throw his body around for the black and gold whenever the team needs a lift.
McQuaid finished with a plus 16 on the season, but was missed considerably in the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs. He is a great physical defenseman for the Boston Bruins and did his part throughout the 2012 season. He was solid.
Final Grade: B
Anthony’s Analysis:
There’s no doubt that Adam McQuaid is one scary dude, and the Bruins are thankful he wears Black and Gold each night. McQuaid’s not the best defensive defensemen out there, but McQuaid gets the job done for sure. McQuaid has no fear and will never hesitate to drop the gloves in any situation. McQuaid is a perfect bottom third defensemen and will be a fan favorite for years to come.
