Three games, three wins, and two shutouts made for some happy times last week in the Hub of Hockey as the Boston Bruins continued their dominance of the National Hockey League.
The Bruins kicked off the week Tuesday night with a 3-0 shutout of the Los Angeles Kings behind 41 saves from Tuukka Rask. After the win the Bruins traveled to Ottawa the following night and beat the Senators 5-2.
After a few days off, the Bruins headed for the city of brotherly love to take on — at the time — the Eastern Conference leading Philadelphia Flyers. The game was as easy as taking candy away from a baby as the Bruins blanked the Flyers 6-0.
With a great performance by Rask, and two solid wins from Thomas both Bruins netminders were serious candidates for this week’s Bruins Daily Player of The Week.
In the three games he suited up for this Bruins third-liner notched two goals, and added four assists, including three in Saturday afternoons win.
This week’s Bruins Daily Player of The Week is none other than Rich Peverley.
Peverley has been huge for the Bruins this season as he and line-mate Chris Kelly have been leading the Bruins third line in what has been a great start for the two.
Beniot Pouliot has been recently added to the line of Peverley and Kelly, and the move has changed things in a positive way for Pouliot and the Bruins, something Pouliot credits Peverley and Kelly for.
With his six-point-week, and assist in last night’s win over the Montreal Canadiens, Peverley is now tied with Patrice Bergeron for second place in points.
