You vote: Boston Bruins quarter-season polls
Share
The Boston Bruins just completed their 21st game of the 2010-11 NHL season today at the TD Garden, so they’ve just turned the quarter-season corner.
From their near Presidents’ Trophy season two years ago, the B’s faltered a bit last season, and ended the playoffs on a sour note (that we need not bring up ever again).
Now with a few new faces this season, a few more goals and an even better goals-against thus far, Boston holds a 12-7-2 record for sixth overall in the Eastern Conference.
So all things considered, it’s your call. What do you think so far? (vote below)

I’m a little bit worried with the defense. Looking back at the games early in the season, the Bruins won a lot simply with Thomas’s stellar play. Now that the goaltending is back to earth (meaning good but not lights out) the holes in the defense can be seen.
I think there’s enough offense to win games when the Bruins need to score 3 goals, but they’ll never win games consistently if they need to put up 4+. I’m cautiously optimistic about the team right now. I like a lot of the pieces, but I’m not convinced that this group will have a better fate than last years team.
I agree. The defense is deep in the pipeline, but other than McQuaid, we really don’t know how NHL-ready those other guys are (Alexandrov, Kampfer, Bartkowski).
One more top-4 defenseman over Hunwick and I’d feel much more confident.
