NOTES:
- Surprisingly, the roof of the TD Garden is still secure…this after Tyler Seguin scored his first goal as a member of the Boston Bruins. Seguin hit the back of the net after taking a sweet dish from Chara in the opening stages of the second to put the good guys up 1-0.
- Solid forechecking from Krejci as Greg Campbell’s two-minute interference penalty had just expired — hustling into the corner, winning the puck battle, and dishing it to an open Horton in the slot. No. 18 rifled his second preseason, goal donning a spoked-B, past Panthers’ goaltender, Scott Selmmensen.
- Rask has played sensational this period, stopping all 12 shots he faced this period, and 17 in all…shunning away a tip attempt by a screening Radek Dvorak in his doorstep. Rask also robbed Triston Grant point-blank with a right pad stop. No. 40 is looking midseason form and is going make the battle for No. 1 awfully tough for Tim Thomas.
- The Seguin–Bergeron–Recchi line is looking sharp as the game goes on. The trio are blatantly showing a good bit of chemistry, especially while sticking together on the power play
