It’s here, the NHL Entry Draft lottery selection. The Boston Bruins have a 60.8% chance of landing either the first or second overall pick — and can finish now lower than with the third overall selection.

Although Phil Kessel netted another 30-goal season, this draft pick  is a future franchise player who is expected to make an immediate impact on next year’s Boston Bruins’ squad.

Here are the odds; by the numbers. Announcements are live tomorrow, Tuesday, Apr. 13, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. EST on Versus (HD). Per NHL rules, the franchise selected in the lottery may not move up more than four positions in the draft order — so the five teams with the lowest points totals have a chance to land the first overall selection.

    Oilers:  25.0%
    Bruins (TOR):  18.8%
    Panthers:  14.2%
    Blue Jackets:  10.7%
    Islanders:  8.1%
    Lightning:  6.2%
    Hurricanes:  4.7%
    Thrashers:   3.6%
    Wild:  2.7%
    Rangers:  2.1%
    Stars:  1.5%
    Ducks: 1.1%
    Coyotes (CGY): 0.8%
    Blues:  0.5%

The first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft will take place on Friday, June 25  at 4 p.m. (local time) at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. Rounds two through seven will take place the following day, Saturday, June 26, at 10 a.m.

Hopefully the B’s will have better lucky than the C’s did during the Durant/Oden draft. Hall would answer all of their offensive woes

I am really interested in sportshockey is my favourite. Even though I wasn’t looking for this exact topic, I’m glad I found your site. I like your writing about sports, it gave me an idea for my own site. Would it be okay if I were to take some of your writing and link back to your site on my own site?
