Bruins remain in 8th; log-jam in the East continues
Share
Despite putting 50 shots on Tampa Bay goalie Antero Nittymaki last night, the Bruins got shocked by the Lightning 5-3 at the TD Garden. However, with the loss, Boston still remains in eighth-place in the Eastern Conference with 78 points, after the Atlanta Thrashers (76) lost in OT to the Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-1.
The N.Y. Rangers crept within one-point of the ninth-place Thrashers with their enormous 4-3 win over the N.J. Devils last evening. The Montreal Canadiens took-out the Florida Panthers, 4-1, to move into sole possession of sixth-place — surpassing the struggling Flyers. Philadephia blew 2-0 and 3-1 leads en route to a 4-3 OT loss to the Minnesota Wild. The log-jam in the East continues with just seven points separating fifth- and ninth-place.
Here are seeds six through 10, their remaining schedules, and season record totals.
