End of 20: Bruins 0, Sharks 0

– Bruins are showing no signs of playing last night. Skating hard, high energy, fast pace, and certainly not intimidated by San Jose. If the boys in Black and Gold keep this up for the next 40 minutes, it could spell a David and Goliath-like battle.
– Tim Thomas. If there’s any doubt on who’s No. 1, the first 20 minutes of tonight’s game all but solidifies that question. No juicy rebounds, making big stops, and seeing the puck well – especially with Big Z No. 33 and Jumbo Joe sitting on his doorstep.
– Lucic is having his best game since coming back from his high-ankle sprain. Two hits – including a sweet defensive hit on Jed Ortmeyer – and slowly but surely looking like vintage Looch. 5:38 time on ice and a blocked shot.
– Zdeno Chara doing a heck of a job against the Marleau – Thornton – Heatley line. The trio have combined for zero of the 12 Sharks shots on net in the first. 6:55 time on ice for the reigning Norris Trophy winner.
– Matt Hunwick leading the team with most time on ice? That’s right. No. 48 has been on the ice for 7:30 of the first, with one shot on net. Claude Julien has rewarded Hunwick with the added playing time and he’s really picking it up.
